IAEM (Pakistan) is officially off the ground! The kick-off session was held on November 28, 2010 at the premises voluntarily offered by Pakistan Red Crescent Society. The notion was to provide a cohesive platform for EM professionals in Pakistan through IAEM and inspire them to be part of the global IAEM family. Participants from diverse organizations attended the session including Banking, Airline, Civil Aviation, Sea Port, Humanitarian Support, Consulting, Pharmaceuticals, Defense & Space, Leisure, Tourism and Fire Protection Association of Pakistan (FPAP)

Promising response from the participants has provoked us to work harder and with the continuing care from IAEM Asia Council, we look forward to take this challenge of promoting IAEM head-on!

Recent world events have challenged us to prepare and manage previously unthinkable situations that may threaten an organization’s future. This new challenge goes beyond the mere emergency response plan or disaster management activities that were previously employed. Today’s threats require the creation of an ongoing, interactive process that serves to assure the continuation of an organization’s core activities before, during, and most importantly, after a major crisis event.

Regardless of the organization, its leadership has a duty to stakeholders to plan for its survival. It is almost mortal to make wrong assumptions…an assumption that history will NOT repeat itself.
